Class Descriptions
Shanti Beginner
Be yourself! Unlearn habitual tension, be present and feel fully alive in an unhurried experience of yoga. "Infinite time and no ambition": based on the work of Vanda Scaravelli, Shanti Yoga creates space for reflection, release and rejuvenation, by following the body instead of working against it. Come home to yourself through this gentle, mindful and embodied practice.
Shanti Intermediate
This mindful practice is about unlearning, grounding and releasing into intermediate yoga postures. Inspired by Scaravelli, Feldenkrais, Trager, Sensory Awareness and Body Mind Centering and other somatic modalities, we move intuitively with the natural breath to fully inhabit the intelligent bodymind.

Restorative Yoga
Soften, breathe and be supported. Using bolsters, blankets, blocks and pillows, allow yourself to receive the rest and restoration that your mind, body and heart need through a practice of opening and release. This class effectively counters the effects of daily stress and is the perfect compliment to stronger forms of yoga. All levels - every body.
Yoga for Athletes
Strengthen your mind/body connection, learn important sports psychology preparation skills and imagery to greatly improve performance and enjoyment. Maintain and improve range of motion to reduce potential injury and soreness due to training. For any level of athlete or sports enthusiast.
Runner's Yoga
Welcome to the strong-but-tight-body class! It's just the way it is - runner's tend to be powerful and tight in the feet, calves, hamstrings, quads, hip flexors, extrenal rotators, and inner thighs.Unfortunately this can lead to changes in running form, postural imablances and eventually, to injury. Effective stretching is very, very gentle, slow and relaxed. - "not too tight, not too loose". Core strength and full breath practice further support for the running body by decreasing muscular effort in the legs and increasing cardiovascular capacity. Just getting your body to this class is all you need to do. Experience the release and relief.
The Big Stretch
Using the foundations of Hatha Yoga, bring awareness to structural and muscular imbalances caused by repetitive strain on specific muscle groups used in running, cycling, and other cardiovascular activities. Strengthen your core muscles and improve your capacity to breath. Find relaxation, release, and recovery while stretching your body in this gentle class.
