D-Stress - How to Teach Relaxation
Teaching relaxation, whether a part of a cool down or as an entire class in itself, can be challenging. How do you teach people who have been breathing all their lives to breathe for grounding and relaxation? How do you help people to slow down without putting them to sleep? How do you create images that everyone can relate to? Must you, as the instructer, be a model of peace and serenity? In this workshop explore these issues and more! Learn relaxation techniques from top athletes and from alternative movement modalities, such as yoga, Feldenkrais and Trager. Revitalize your natural imagery and create images that are rich and accessible to your class. Consider the practical aspects of teaching relaxation - class atmosphere, language, voice and music.
