Seasons of the Year
Spring, summer, fall and winter. we take time out of our busy lives to stand together and honour the turning of the wheel. All of nature; earth, air, water and fire - everything that surrounds you, is also in you. Connect with these natural elements and find their qualities of groundedness, inspiration, flow and passion in you and in your life.
Seasons of Life
In many cultures the transitions we experience in life are noticed and celebrated, and allow each person in a community a chance to be honoured and welcomed. The sense of self appreciation and wholeness that this celebration brings has not been matched in our culture. Together we can change that. Each of the following rituals are celebrations created specifically for the celebrants, and no two are alike. Much time and care is taken in co-creating these special events. Rituals from many traditions may be considered as well as dance, song and gifting.
Naming ceremony
A new life, a new name. In this ceremony a baby's name in honoured and spoken by all. She touches the earth for the first time; he is held in love by his community. a concious beginning for a family
First Blood
A girls first menstruation is very powerful, physically and emotionally. Here is an opportunity to welcome her into her own power, and to welcome her as a woman
Coming of age for Boys
How does a boy become a man? What does he leave behind of his childhood and what support does he need as he matures? Honouring a boys transition enables him to conciously move into the next season of his life.
Wedding and Handfasting
Moving into marriage conciously with clear communicated intentions - this is at the heart of the wedding and handfasting ritual. With words, music and dance, the promise of union is acknowledged and grounded in celebration
Blessing Way
A community is gathered in love to welcome a new child, either on the way or already in arms. How will we support this child and mother on their journey? What dreams do we hold for them? The making of a prayer strand by those present makes this support manifest for the labouring mother or, in the future, for her child
Croning
Women move into the fullness of their power when they no longer need to bleed or care primarily for others. It ofter requires a letting go of the maiden and mother. Walking conciously towards our own Wise Woman helps us to redefine aging and greet our middle/later years with excitement.
Parting and Grieving
In our culture, we are not encouraged to grieve over our many losses and thus, never truly let them go and move on. Sometimes we need help to do this. Whether it is a loss of relationship, career, or a dear one, grieving honours the loss and the richness of our lifes experience.
